Valentine, College, & Gatorade

 It's Cold

This February weather wise has been a smidge confusing. 2 weeks ago at the end of January it was about 60 degrees and then, this past week it has been below 20 degrees and I've had it. I get cold really easily, whenever my hands get cold, my nails turn purple. I have gone no where without my mittens, at least 2 layers, long fuzzy socks (I hate feeling the cold breeze on my ankles), and my earmuffs. Have I been a midwestern girly since birth? Yes, but I feel like I'm still allowed to complain about it's the wind that gets you.

Happy Birthday Cupid?

Is it a meh title? Yes, do I care? No. Happy (late) Valentine's Day! I spent most of the day doing my usual Friday activities, then my boyfriend got me a gift I never knew I needed, a big bag full of Cool Blue Gatorade. Whenever I am sad or sick, I like to drink Cool Blue Gatorade. Since having the flu last week, I didn't get any cause I was like dead. So for the 14th, he got me a bag to make up for it. This is my favorite flavor of all time and you cannot convivence me otherwise. I also got a to-go order of my favorite restaurant, but granted I get it every week. But I did get the dumplings so technically it was special. Celebrating holidays is always interesting because you want to get nice things for the people you care about, but you're balling on a budget. I got to spend time with my friends, shopping for Valentine's Day and random errands. This was a nice distraction for a rather simple week. Didn't do much since I was still getting over the flu.

It's Icey Folks

There is ice everywhere and since it is cold, the ice is not melting. As much as the snow day was nice, it was implemented on the wrong date. There was only 4 inches of snow, it should've happened this week because of the arctic winds and ice sidewalks. It is a treacherous journey just to get to class. I understand that we are here to learn, but it's hard to do that when you can slip and injury yourself badly because someone didn't shovel and then it froze. I think the world needs a reminder that college kids have to WALK to classes and other things on and off-campus. Salt the roads and stay safe kids.
