Surviving College in the Rain
Rain, Rain, go away
Walking between classes in the rain, getting your shoes so soaked it seeps in and now your socks are wet. The bottom of your pants are wet and sticking to your leg, your bag is wet and so now is everything inside your bag is too. College in the rain isn't fun, you're practically suffering just to further your education (granted this is the Midwest, but still). I'm writing this while the bottoms of my pants are wet and the tip of my shoe got wet enough that the tip of my sock got wet and now my toe is cold. TMI? I don't care, now you know my sock is wet. Thankfully, it's not hot and muggy in this rain, it's closer to the cold rainy weather, it's not freezing, more like refreshing.
Rain, Rain, don't go away
Now, I might sound like a flip-flopper, but I actually really like the rain. I find it very relaxing. I love studying when it's raining or just coloring because I find that everything goes very smoothly and efficiently. I know some people like to listen to rain sounds when studying or to sleep because it just gets them more motivated and they work better. So maybe trying to get ahead or do more complex assignments during certain weather because it might help you get into a groove. Or if you find rain more relaxing, this is perfect for "me time" because you can color, take a nap, brain rot, or even have a little spa moment. Saving things for a rainy day can be pretty beneficial because you're putting aside a moment to relax and focus on yourself, especially since you can't really go outside. So, when you can, take a break and enjoy the rain sounds, it can really do wonders for your mental health. Also, call me a freak but I love the "rain smell", it just smells very comforting to me and helps me calm down a little bit. So stop and enjoy the rain, it's good for you.
Rain Jackets are NOT Lame
Hey! Please bundle up with a rain jacket and an umbrella. As much as rain is nice, you can still get sick and we just got over the flu & cold season, don't be that person who didn't bundle up and caught a cold. Anyways, hope you enjoyed and have a good day, I know I will!
Hi Emily! I'm definitely relating to this post after just having to walk to multiple classes in the rain today haha. I also find the rain super relaxing, only when I'm able to stay indoors though. I also love the rain when I'm sleeping or studying or doing something quiet.
ReplyDeleteHey! I completely agree. The thunderstorms we've been having lately have strongly encouraged me to set up relaxing music and focus on my homework. It's also been helping me sleep. I LOVE the sound of rain at night.
