How to not have a breakdown: Free time edition

 Surviving exam prep

Since now approaching mid February, an unpleasant thing has started up again: the exam waves. This is the first wave, just 2 exams so not too terrible. Throughout the semester, it's important remember when these waves happen and if the wave is going to be worse. Everyone knows when the Big Kahuna wave is: Finals Week. But I still have a few months before that happens so I can forget about it and be blissfully unaware. That is key to not having a constant breakdowns, is to only focus on what's happening and not stressing yourself out so bad for something that is going to happen in 4 months. But that's just my opinion.

Fueling Yourself to Succeed

Obviously eating is vital for living, but eating food with lots of benefits is so slay. All week I was craving sushi, so as a fun treat for having a good week with things academically and socially, I wanted to reward myself cause self love is important too. I am a picker eater so I don't like a lot of things, but my order is Spicy Tuna rolls, Spicy Crab rolls, then I got some Tuna Nigiri, and eggrolls to share. This was so good and got bonus points because besides using sushi to help with my me-time, sushi is also good for brain function. Which obviously helps when studying for exams, so it was a win-win. This is a good way (at least in my opinion) to help balance the important things in college. So this is your sign to eat more sushi and treat yourself.

My Relationship w/notecards

When studying for anything, I love using digital notecards. I find so helpful, it's quick information so you don't overwhelm yourself, you can go any speed, and what I really like that you can study with them anywhere. On the laptop, on your phone, your ipad. It's great, I really find them super helpful and can often find myself studying them on the go or even when I'm just chilling on the couch. I do recommend digital notecards. Now does studying stress myself out? Of course, but reminding myself to not focus too much on things that are that far in the future and things that are out of my control. Really just taking deep breaths and my time when studying helps a lot. Especially with the weather getting warmer, all of the seasonal depression is just fading. Which also helps a lot when focusing on school and my mental health.
